If man is not to blame for an asteroid heading for Earth, should we ignore it?

Should we only worry about environmental changes and problems that we are sure we're to blame for? For example, if it turns out that man is not the cause of increasing CO2 levels in the air, but climate change seems certain because of it, should we just leave it up to nature, because "nature knows how to correct things"?
