Why is Potterton Promax SL intermittently fails to start. Pool of water below bolier?

Could you please help? Our 2008 installed Potterton Promax SL intermittently fails to start from the timer and we have to press the reset on. There is a pool of water under boiler which we ume is related! Help pls. Many thanks
